HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR TO ALL !
Just finished watching House Of Fury on television earlier on. Despite watching this show for N times, I never get sick of it. I guess that's because of the fact that I always like action-packed films. Another plus factor is that there is Gillian Chung. Such a seemingly sweet and adorable girl, yet who would have thought there is much more than just a pretty exterior.
Anyway this 2009 year is an auspicious year for Tigers according to the Chinese horoscope. Even though I am not a particularly superstitious person, nonetheless it doesn't hurt to check out what I will be expecting in the various areas highlighted by predictions. Overall is good, but I have to be careful not to overwork which may be detrimental to my health. Another point to note is that I have good 'Tao Hua' this year , which I am glad to know. Hahahaha. It is not a hidden secret that one day I really wish to meet someone whom I love and who loves me in return. Enough of the wrong ones whom I have met so far in my life.
Bidding was surprisingly smooth for this semester's modules. I got all the timings of my lectures and tutorials that I wanted without any obstruction, using 1 point for each of my modules. This is fantastic, because I can save for rainy days, especially when there are crazy folks who doesn't give a hood on other people's dwindling credits and insist on spoiling the market.
Here are my modules for this semester:
1) HY2220
2) HY2232
3) SW1101E
4) CH2141
5) CL2204
I intend to major in History. Even though both Chinese modules affected my CAP score last semester, I have decided to give them a second shot because this will be my last CL module to fulfil UE, whereas I am taking CH again because I probably going to minor in Chinese Studies. Level 2 modules are very different from exposure modules, in which more specialisation and focus are centered on the main theme covered in the module. Competition is more intense too. Take for example my two history modules. I hardly see any Year ones around and although I am taking Korean history with two friends, but they are Year threes. Anyway, I refused to get intimidated !
Just because I did not clear my QET, hence they decided that my standard of English is deemed unsuitable to properly comprehend university materials intellectually. So I have to take up this extra module which forces me to go to school everyday, regardless of odd or even weeks:
6) EA1101
This semester will be tougher because of the additional workload. This is definitely not a hyperbole, and I am kind of miffed too that lessons will be back-to-back for some days, stretching to like 6 hours in a row. A lot of modules seem to take particular preference to Tuesday (what's up with Tuesday sia). Fortunately, I only have a student for this semester. No doubt income will be much limited, but since I have no qualms in saying no, expenses should be spent mostly on food, transport and ink cartridges until the holidays begin from 8th May onwards.
Sacrifices are bound to be made in the road to achieve the goals which one aims to fulfil. Like I was telling my friend that instead of printing readings on a Friday night, I could possibly be gyrating to the beat of music and getting intoxicated in a club. I don't though, at least not now. That is because there is a need to prioritise what I really want, bearing in mind of the mistakes committed last semester which should never be repeated again this semester.
