Met up with my good brother SJ to register for arts camp last saturday. I am going to arts camp 08 ! Sacrificed five days of wages and on top of that still have to fork out about a day's pay for this camp. Hopefully , everything turns out nice.

After registering , we went to jalan around to kill time before we embarked on our invigorating cycling activity at East Coast Park in the late afternoon. Almost conquered the whole stretch of East Coast to and fro. Our legs were pretty numbed for a moment but it was gratifying. I love cycling ! Anybody who likes cycling and needs a cycling kaki , do jio me along !

SJ and I knew each other during the 1st 3 months in college and was separated after that because he went on to Hwa Chong while I was in Nanyang. We still keep in touch pretty often and now we are going to be schoolmates and coursemates again. SJ and I often share with each other our feelings and thoughts on various issues. I feel comfortable talking to him because we are almost on the same frequency level. Still remembered we used to talk about romance issues back then because we were in almost the same predicament in college. Now he has already progressed well -- blissfully attached to a wonderful girlfriend who holds him as her first priority above all her commitments. I think this is important because if a person really means alot or at least something to you , no matter how busy you are , you will still fork out time for him/her. I am not refering to friendship level but another level up. So my friend is really fortunate and I am happy for him , yet sad for myself because I am still stuck in the same spot. Sometimes , I postulate the day when I may end up lonely and unwanted as all the people around me are already busking in happiness. It may be a silly and unfounded thought to you guys , but we cannot dismiss the possibility of this from happening.

LA Lakers lost to Boston Celtics for the coveted crown of NBA Champions. Sigh. Disappointed. I have always been a Lakers fan since young and Kobe Bryant is my favourite basketball player. He is a shooting guard and this is a position I relish a lot because I love to score. Working hard just to send the ball through the net using whichever ways --- short or long jumpers , fadeaways , hooks , layups , free-throws , etc. Nothing beats the feeling of seeing your efforts paid off when the ball swoosh through nothing but the net.

I watched Kung Fu Panda with my friend yesterday. A humorous and cute show. I was at the Singapore Flyer too. I have seen it afar numerous times but this is the first time I am so close to it. It was magnificently breath-taking. Didn't ride it though. My friend and I came up with this interesting "couple package" available within the building itself. We even made a bet to see who will get to experience this first and she was saying she expects that I will be the one treating her the bet. However , I doubt this prophecy will happen anywhere in the near future. Anyway here goes :

1) Eat at Popeyes. The queues to the three counters available are ridiculously long to test one's patience (especially during the weekends). I lined up for approximately 45 minutes to buy the food yesterday. Couples can take turns queueing up and encourages each other to hang in there (through sms or call , can't possibly shout unless you want all attention to be focused on you). Usually , the girl will "chope" the seats while the boy , being the supposedly gentleman , can queue up. By encouraging each other or just simply chatting throughout the long wait , it signifies rapport and support between the couple. If just by sticking to each other through this simple task of queueing up to meet the objective of sitting down to a nice meal of fried chicken is a valid test , it sets the foundation of roughing out more nerve-wrecking rides in future. It always starts from the very basic to build a mutual understanding and commitment to a cause/s between a couple.

2) Go for fishy therapy at Kenko Spa - 30 minutes of fish spa and 10 minutes shoulder massage.
Ensconced side by side with each other , chatting and giggling to silly contentment while watching and feeling the little fishes nibbling off the dead skin off the feet. 10 minutes shoulder massage to round it off to soothe tense shoulders. There are other types of spa which I won't detail here to spare the agony for guys because this package alone packs enough power for him to feel the pain in the pocket. Of course this is subjective to every individual , depending on the budget of his disposable income. But hey , no complains if you are bend on making your princess her day.

3) Visit Build-A-Bear Shop. Interesting shop which allows customers to dress up the bears with the availability of materials and clothings according to each individual's preferences. Refreshingly charged after spa , is time for some hands-on activity. Couples can swopped places for a change to work on their bears -- as in , girl will do a male bear while boy will work on a female bear. The end products should be satisfiable , or at least doesn't create an eye-sore. This leads to our next and final destination --- the long-awaited ride of Singapore Flyer.

4) Ride the Singapore Flyer. Depending on individual's preference again to choose to take either the day or night rides. There are pros and cons actually. Personally , I feel that the night rides will be more romantic. Gazing down from the capsule to Singapore's littering view of glittering lights from buildings and residential estates is simply enchanting. To be able to see all these in the companionship of a person whom matters most (besides your parents , that is) and the lovely couple bears , what more is there to ask for ? Be sure to bring along a digital camera to capture such captivating moments.

I would like to introduce two recent Taiwanese idol dramas that I have finished watching on Youtube. Actually is not really recent ---- two to three months ago to be exact. Nevertheless , I will take the opportunity to blog it whilst memories of the two shows are still fresh in my mind. As for today , I will first introduce 1 drama while leaving the other one for the next entry as I would like to recharge my batteries after blogging to get ready for the hustle-bustle of yet another start of the week.

Hooping Dulcinea

Nope , Dulcinea is not a fancy name that I have come up with. I wikipedia-ed this word and found that it is actually a name of a fictional character from a romantic old Spanish tale. This idol drama is also known as Bull Fighting / Dou Nu Yao Bu Yao. It has always been a tradition for two colleges , namely East Sun and Lan Di , to battle out in a format of 3-on-3 street basketball style so as to decide who will gain sole access to 13th Street basketball court. For the past 9 years , East Sun had emerged triumph over their counterparts. The annual basketball fest has arrived yet again and Trio , consisting of Shen Ruo He (starring Mike He) and 2 of his cronies are tasked with the responsibility of bringing glory to East Sun once again. On the way to the game , Mike He bumped into Yi Sheng Xue (starring Hebe) , who is a black mob's daughter and was with her cronies , including Jin Zi Cong (starring Lee Wei) who is her childhood playmate cum bodyguard cum admirer. 1 of Sheng Xue's cronies was unhappy with Ruo He's attitude and did some sabotaging to his equipments. This indirectly caused East Sun to lose the match as a result. Being an avid supporter of East Sun due to personal reasons since young , Sheng Xue was unhappy and blamed Ruo He for losing the match. She decided to transfer to East Sun so as to give Ruo He hell until he manages to gain back 13th Street basketball court again. Watch out how the characters prevail as they find themselves embroiled in a romantic tangle that is hidden by dangerous and selfish means fuelled by pressures from all directions.

Mike He-Rainie Yang is my favourite on-screen couple ever since I watched Devil Beside You. Thus I was interested to see the fresh collaboration between Mike and Hebe and I must say that their chemistry and sizzling sparks on-screen are commendable. Being her first foray into idol dramas as lead female , Hebe's role as Yi Sheng Xue manages to win fans and new fans alike with her successful portray of the role by bringing out Sheng Xue's personalities. Headstrong and stubborn in her beliefs , Sheng Xue does her best in everything she does , especially when it comes to the love she puts her whole faith in. Upon facing complicated issues which arised from the harsh world outside , she still deals with them without losing her child-like innocence. From a personal perspective , I prefer girls with long hair but Hebe is one of the few who manages to pull off with short hair without losing girlish charm. Indeed Hebe's choice of hairstyles has evolved until the current style and am glad she decides to keep this (what's with the 2 dyed pony-tails she was spotting when she first ventured into showbiz anyway?). Also , even from a guy's viewpoint , I must say that Mike He is really good-looking. His facial features are well defined and his complexion is really good. Given a chance , I would like to ask him what kind of facial products he used and does he drinks bird's nest everyday. But I believe that his good looks are inherited from his parents. People says good genes flow through the family blood ties. Another reason I attribute is the weather. The weather in Singapore is simply yucky ----- humidity all year round. That's why I bathe in cold water most of the time.

I will recommend this idol drama to those who loves watching idol dramas because it is an awesome combination of basketball and love which appeals to both basketball and non-basketball lovers. Definitely my favourite drama after Devil Beside You.
