This semester has been a toil for me so far.

I am kind of overwhelmed by the massive workload. 4 of my Major modules and 1 Minor module are no joke. I do feel like a pitiful historian, with so many datelines due on top of my tutorials and lectures' readings. Anybody who takes a history module in NUS will know that he or she would be subjected not only weekly lecture readings, but also tutorial readings (average at least 2 to 4 sets, each about 30 pages or so to be read, digest and get ready to talk in tutorials in order to gain participation marks) and forum participation when one is expected to participate actively and give constructive comments in order to gain forum participation marks. Notwithstanding such heavy workload, when one meets people who show their aggressiveness through tutorials and forums, the pressure to perform inevitably builds up. I am not very sure whether is it just me, but I do find students of European history modules more aggressive as compared to Asian History modules. Whoever says FASS students have it easy?

It also seems like a norm for me now to go back to school on Saturdays after tuition to print/photocopy notes and do research for term papers. Actually it is not too bad because the library is not as crowded as compared to weekdays, but yes is rather no life I must say. As I was complaining to a friend that I am behaving as if I am in my honours year, I cannot imagine when I reach Year 4 (that's if I am capable to reach there). Do I see myself even going back to school on Sundays?

1 essay, 1 debate, 1 presentation, 2 tests and 1 report to be met and overcome before the final exams of this semester beckon. Nonetheless, I would still like to have a small break over the Good Friday weekend to release all the pent-up stress and frustrations. Anybody who wishes to catch up with me do feel free to date me out!
